I think this is 10 years presenting to NRAC now! Each year I wonder what new cases there are to report on, but each year there’s something different and interesting. More public challenges, class actions and tech issues this year.
The sixth NRAC online event on Thursday 30th November 2023 – the session will be from 9:30am to 12:45pm. My name is Chris Fry and I will be the second speaker, back to tell you all about the cases keeping me busy this year.
My varied caseload specialising in disability and equality currently covers public law with recent experience of York traffic management issues, Judicial Review, and the Public Sector Equality Duty in a civil law context.
I will also speak about touch screen technology at point of sale and on lift controls, and travelators for wheelchair users in supermarkets. I am advising on problems with the design of systems such as telephone security systems in banking which disadvantage people with speech differences. Also covered is the increasing trend of people with ASD requiring quiet spaces for events.
